Accommodation Summary
1 night in Lake Nakuru- Sopa lodge: Full board
Two days. Two completely different lakes. Two experiences that share nothing but their extraordinary quality. The 2 Days Lake Nakuru and Naivasha Safari is the ideal Nairobi weekend escape — a circuit that begins less than two hours from the city and delivers, in the space of two days, the full breadth of what the Great Rift Valley’s freshwater and soda lake ecosystems offer.
Day one takes you to Lake Nakuru National Park. The soda lake with its flamingo-pink shoreline, its rhino sanctuary — home to both black and white rhinoceros in numbers found almost nowhere else in Kenya — and the Baboon Cliff viewpoint that reveals the entire Rift Valley floor in a single sweep. Full-day game drives cover the flamingo shore, the euphorbia forest on the escarpment, and the grassland where waterbuck and buffalo graze in herds large enough to make you forget you are two hours from a city of five million.
Day two moves to Lake Naivasha. A freshwater lake this time — completely different vegetation, completely different wildlife. A boat safari takes you across the lily-covered surface to within metres of hippopotamus pods. African fish eagles dive for tilapia at your guide’s signal. And Crescent Island offers the only place in Kenya where you can walk freely among giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest with nothing between you and the animals.
Two days. Both lakes. The Rift Valley at its finest.
Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Naivasha -Lake Nakuru
Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from Nairobi. As you drive through the Great Rift Valley, the scenery opens up into wide plains, rolling mountains, and a horizon that seems endless.
Highlights of Your Day:
Boat Ride on Lake Naivasha
Glide across one of Kenya’s most beautiful freshwater lakes. Spot hippos lazing in the water, eagles soaring overhead, and countless birds dancing across the shoreline.
Walking Safari at Crescent Island
Step onto Crescent Island for one of the most unique wildlife experiences. Walk among zebras, giraffes, antelopes, waterbucks, and more—no predators — just peaceful coexistence with nature.
Later, proceed to Lake Nakuru, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at your lodge. Watch the sun set behind the acacia trees as the calls of birds fill the air — a serene moment you’ll replay again and again.
