El Karama Lodge is an intimate, family owned and operated eco lodge. It is owned by Michael and Sophie Grant. El Karama Lodge is found within the private owned wildlife conservancy, El Karama which is an Arabic name to ‘ answer to prayer’ in English. It is situated 42km northwest of Nanyuki town. You will feel at home with the energetic , fun and attentive staff members.
El Karama Lodge has a burn style bush kitchen that is responsible for the hearty and clean home cooked food. Enjoy a fully cooked breakfast, lunch buffet, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner meals. There is an organic garden that produces fresh ingredients and meat are sourced from the local community. Take a bite of the charcoal-oven baked cake as you lazy around the lodge.
El Karama Lodge has 8 unique and authentic cottages. Nilotica private house and the Hobbit house are family houses. The river cottages are used by couples or small families while the three Banda’s are couple rooms. These cottages are built from locally sourced materials and furnitures are made by the ranch carpenter. These rooms have either double or twin beds, writing desk and chairs, ensuite bathrooms, hot shower, flushing toilets, bath showers, overhead showers. The Hobbit house is the largest cottages and has 2 bedrooms, a lounge area with sofa sets and armchairs, internal bathrooms and a large ground space where children can play from and run about.
