Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge is found within the Lake Nakuru national park and it is built on a hill overlooking the lake and surrounded by the park. It was re-opened on 1st June 2022 by the Sopa lodges. It is located 165km from Nairobi, 21km from all the weather roads in Lake Nakuru national park, and 7 km from Naishi Airstrip. It can be accessed through the A104 road, 4km off Nakuru town using the main gate. Tourists from Masai Mara national reserve use the Lanet Gate while those from Elementaita use the Nderit Gate. This 3-star lodge experiences high rainfalls in April and May and short rainfalls in November and December. It is a 2 hour 30 minutes drive from Nairobi and 40 minutes flight to Naishi airstrip with 15 minutes transfer to the lodge.
Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge restaurant has skilled chefs who display their culinary skills in their a la carte menus of local and international cuisines. The dishes are Swahili, Mediterranean, and continental. There are live cooking and special diets of foods guests place requests on. The bar has dark wood paneling with subtle lighting giving a cozy ambiance to the guests as they enjoy cold-iced beers, glasses of wine, or any drink of their preference. The outside pool bar is best for drinks as the guests bask in the sun. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor sitting areas.
Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge has 60 spacious rooms with private balconies, ensuite bathrooms, well-appointed comfortable beds, seating areas, and large windows. There are 6 single rooms and 54 double rooms of which 2 rooms can be easily accessed by wheelchairs and the other 2 have interconnecting doors. The rooms that are interconnected are mostly used by families and groups of friends. These rooms have also the option of being divided into twin rooms, triple rooms, and quad rooms. They all have chairs, tables, bathtubs, showers, toiletries, safe, and tee and coffee-making facilities. The wheelchair-accessible rooms are modified with grab bars to ease movements in them.
