Lewa Wilderness is situated near the base of Mt. Kenya – Africa’s second tallest mountain –Mt Kenya. Lewa Wilderness is one of Kenya’s oldest and most private safari ventures. The Craig family has passed down from one generation to the next a distinct passion for wildlife, conservation and tourism, and they proudly continue to run Lewa Wilderness lodge and Walking Wild camel safaris. This place is as much a home as it is a truly unique and personal safari experience. It is perched on the edge of the Lewa conservancy.
Lewa Wilderness seating room is filled with a library of books, and a veranda well designed for fresh air. On the other side is a lounge area and a raised deck where you can set your eyes on the views of the valley and the Mt Kenya beyond. There is an open air dining opposite the deck with the views of the hillside. Enjoy meals from the garden. Serving is casual making guest to be able to select their desired choice of meals. Enjoy bush meals while at Lewa wilderness. Dinner is formal and it is a 3 course meal.
Lewa Wilderness has 9 exclusive room. 6 cottages are tucked in the hillside overlooking the the eastern side of Marania valley and it has 1 family /honeymoon room that has its own private plunge pool. 3 cottages are in the garden, cosy and expansive in size. it is set in a beautiful lawn. All the rooms have a private lounge area and fireplace to keep them warm in cold evenings, large bedrooms and ensuite bathroom. The cottages are stoned in a rush style and fitted with wooden furnitures, woven carpets, armchairs and comfortable sofa sets.
