The lion king bush camp is located inside Samburu national reserve on the Ewaso Ngiro River. It is 23km from archers post, 5 minutes drive from the Samburu lodge on the southern corner of Samburu district. It offers a natural unspoiled environment with little interference to the bush and its inhabitants. The camp remains home to myriad birds, the vervet monkeys, mongoose, genet cats, and many others. Elephants are regular visitors since they often cross the river and take mud baths directly in front of the camps.
It has 6 private tents with outside sitting area, double beds, inside tent showers and toilet. The campsite is simple, natural and casual. It can be hired on either self catering, partially or full catering basis. It has an extra tent space that can fit 2 tents for larger groups. Request on triple or 4 people sharing. The tents are build directly from the ground. It has an extension the the Pitari’s camp in the memory of Chris Pitari. It is a family custodian place that offers its guest with hikes in the surrounding hills, walks to the forest and chance to explore the Samburu culture with their manyatta visits in the neighboring villages. The Pitari camp gives an informal atmosphere and best visited by mid range guests.
Meals will all be homecooked and every morning you will be served tea or coffee by your bedside. Dining is done in the open dining space around the campfire facing the Ewaso Nyiro river.
