Mara Expeditions Camp is associated with the great plains conservation group and is located on the north of Masai Mara national reserve on the border with the Mara north conservancy. It is set up amidst of thick riverine forest, at the bend of ntiak ntiak river and the tents are positioned between the east African acacia trees. you can not notice the camp until you are inside it. This serene set up gives the cam an exclusive and intimate feeling filled with peace and silence. This camp is famously known for being a leopard territory. It is powered by solar all day all night. The camp is closed from 1st April to 14th June.
Mara Expeditions Camp has a main area that is mostly lit by lanterns and candlelit and decorated with Persian rugs, beaded leathers floor cushions, and a brass lamp giving a welcoming atmosphere. The main area overlooks the river and hosts two parts with one being the lounge area and the other being the dining area. Since while at the camp in most cases you will be on your game drives, you will have a picnic breakfast or a picnic lunch and at times you will be able to enjoy both while on your safari drive. If you will be at the camp you will enjoy an al fresco breakfast and lunch dining under the ebony trees. Dinner is a 3 course meal and private dinners can be arranged on the verandah decks. All drinks are inclusive except champagne.
Mara Expeditions Camp has 5 canvas tents and one 2 bedroom family tent that offers luxurious comfort for relaxation. Each room has a private deck opening up to the ntiak ntiak river with a hammock, director chair and barrels that serve as a coffee table. With old Indian chest fittings, the rooms have either twin beds or double beds upon which triple beds can be administered on request. All rooms have ensuite bathroom with flushing toilet, twin brass basin, hand soaps, walk in safari showers, dressing room, a small seating area, fly netting on the sides and hot water can be offered on requests.
