The Ol Tukai Lodge is a contemporary safari lodge rated 4 stars. It is situated at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and was established in 1996 amidst the Amboseli national park, a mere 4 km from the Amboseli elephant research camp. The lodge is approximately 270 km from Nairobi, which can be reached in a 4-hour drive or a 30-minute flight from Wilson airport. There are two routes to access the Ol Tukai Lodge: Nairobi-Kajiado-Mashuru-Amboseli or Nairobi-Namanga-Amboseli.
At Ol Tukai Lodge, the main restaurant features a lounge area with a TV, air conditioning, and a designated smoking section. Guests can enjoy themed dinners and delectable buffet meals, while the makuti styled verandah and open dining area offer stunning views of the surrounding park, Mt Kilimanjaro and elephant herds. Additionally, there are two bars available for snacks and drinks.
Ol Tukai Lodge boasts 80 opulent chalets that are tastefully designed to provide ample space, style and comfort. These chalets are categorized into twin, double, triple rooms, and one villa – Kibo Villa, which is named after the highest peak of Mt Kilimanjaro. The Kibo Villa is a three-bedroom log cabin, and the master bedroom leads to the top roof terrace. Each room is equipped with a clothes press, dressing gown, lounge area, shower, veranda, en-suite bathroom, safe, tea counter, private terrace, and is accessible to physically challenged individuals.
