Located in Tsavo West National Park, the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is the first lodge of its kind in Kenya. It is a member of the Flying Blue program and is named after the Kamba word for “young rhino”. The lodge offers breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the evergreen Chyulu hills. The main Mtito Andei gate provides easy access to the lodge, which is a 30-minute drive away. It is 250km from Nairobi (a 5-hour drive), 3 hours from Mombasa by car, and is a 1-hour flight from Wilson Airport to Kilaguni Airstrip.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge offers a unique dining experience. The dining room has a stone terrace that overlooks the wildlife waterhole, while the stone-built bar provides stunning views of the Chyulu hills. All ingredients used in the meals are sourced from local communities neighboring the Tsavo West National Park. Guests can enjoy a full English breakfast, buffet lunch, and table d’hôte dinner. Special meals or an à la carte menu can also be requested and will be served to the guests’ satisfaction. The most breathtaking dining experiences are outdoors, where guests can drive to the Lion Rock to enjoy a well-laid table for breakfast with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. Guests can also end their day with a wonderful sundowner of cocktails, drinks, and snacks at the same lion hill rock. Finally, they can enjoy a tantalizing bush dinner amidst the acacia trees adjacent to the lodge, with a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
