The 10-Day Rustic African Safari is for the second group. This itinerary strips away the polished lodge infrastructure and places you where Kenya is at its most honest — in canvas-walled tented camps deep inside wilderness ecosystems that have changed nothing about themselves to accommodate your comfort expectations. The food is cooked on an open fire. The nights are genuinely dark. The sounds are real.
Over ten days, the circuit covers Kenya’s most diverse wildlife ecosystems. The Masai Mara — where you spend the most time, the most deservedly. The Samburu National Reserve in Kenya’s remote north, where the five species found nowhere else in the country roam along the Ewaso Ng’iro River: reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and the Somali ostrich. Lake Nakuru’s rhino sanctuary. And Amboseli, where elephants in extraordinary numbers move against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro.
Rustic does not mean uncomfortable. It means authentic. Every tented camp in this itinerary has been personally selected by the Denki Travels team for its wildlife position, its food quality, and its character. You will have a proper bed, a hot bush shower, and a guide who has spent their entire career learning this specific stretch of land.

Day 1. Nairobi.
It is good to start your safari with a city experience. Enjoy the Nairobi safari walk, watch baby elephants being fed, feed the giraffe then finish the day with Nyama choma coupled with kachumbari as you wash them down by Tusker!

Day 2. Nairobi-Samburu
Early breakfast then leave your hotel for Samburu. Arrive at lunch hour, check in to your hotel, relax, and wait for the evening game drive.

Day 3. Samburu Full Day
Today you will experience Samburu in its purest glory. Capture the morning sunshine and immerse yourself in the full-day game drive. Experience the rare five of the Samburu and other game animals.

Day 4. Buffalo springs.
Buffalo Springs is near the Samburu and it has its uniqueness worthy of exploring. Finish the day by capturing the beautiful sunsets next to your swimming pool.

Day 5. Samburu-Lake Nakuru.
Early morning breakfast then leave for Nakuru. This is a long journey, but the beautiful countryside scenery renders time to be meaningless. Arrive in your Nakuru lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Day 6. Lake Nakuru full day.
Lake Nakuru, the natural aviary awaits you. Experience the rich birdlife, game drives, and rhinos to the fullest.

Day 7. Nakuru-Masai mara.
Another day for a short game drive at lake Nakuru national park then leave for Masai Mara.
Arrive at Masai Mara for relaxation and overnight t the hotel.
Day 8. Full-day game drive.
Morning breakfast then an immersive game drive experience with lunch in the wild.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9. Masai Mara full day.
Early morning game drive. The best to catch big cats hunting for their meals of the day. Go back to the lodge for breakfast.
Take breakfast and engage in different activities such as a nature walk, a visit to Masai village, swimming or just relaxing at the lodge sipping your favorite drink.

Day 10. Masai Mara- Nairobi.
The safari has come to an end and it is time to leave for Nairobi to catch your flight back home.
