Most Kenya safaris go south and west. This one goes everywhere that matters — including north, where the country gets genuinely wild.
The 6 Days Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Samburu Safari is a circuit that covers more ecological diversity than almost any other six-day itinerary available in Kenya. You begin in the Masai Mara, spending the most time where the concentration of large predators is highest anywhere on the planet. Then north through the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, where rhinos drink at the flamingo-pink shoreline and pelican colonies spiral above the alkaline water. Then further north still, past the equator, to Samburu National Reserve.
Samburu is where experienced Kenya travellers go when they want to see the Kenya that most tourists miss. The Ewaso Ng’iro River — running orange through bone-white banks fringed with doum palms — shelters five species found nowhere in Kenya’s southern parks: the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and the Somali ostrich. Add lion, leopard, elephant, and the extraordinary bird life of the dry northern savannah, and Samburu completes the wildlife picture that the Mara began.
Three ecosystems. Six days. The full north-to-south arc of Kenyan wildlife.
